Tom (Tomasz) Kalinowski is a 2025 honors graduate from the Quinnipiac University School of Law in North Haven, CT. He assists the firm with all aspects of its litigation and workers’ compensation practice. Prior to joining NLF, Tom brought a decade of experience in various roles, most recently as a Contracts Co-Op at Collins Aerospace, where he participated in drafting contracts and assisting in complex negotiations, including for international customers. He also worked with the City of Torrington’s Office of Corporation Counsel, where he assisted in employment arbitration matters, compliance, and defense of claims brought against the city, including litigation of a complex case of first impression surrounding the state’s receivership statute.
While in law school, Tom was Vice President of the Quinnipiac Moot Court Society, where he coached the team and competed in the 31st annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Competition in New York City. He is a proud recipient of the Christopher Bannerman Memorial Scholarship which he received for outstanding academic achievement, and also received the school’s award for excellence in public service.
In his free time, Tom serves as Treasurer and Chief of the Drakeville Volunteer Fire Department in Torrington, CT where he leads the department’s operation and maintains relationships with various municipal boards and state agencies. He brings an extremely unique blend of negotiation, litigation, and public service experience to the firm, and understands what it’s like to work under pressure when it matters most.
